Pre-Wedding Engagement Photo Session in Wicklow
I had the pleasure of photographing Catherine & Cormac recently in advance of their wedding in Tankardstown this summer. Their pre-wedding engagement photo session in Wicklow was destined for Glendalough and the Dublin mountains. We chose an early summer evening for the shoot and what a spectacular photo session it turned out to be. They decided that they wanted to experience an engagement shoot to prepare themselves for their wedding day and to know what to do and what to expect etc. And it worked. As I write this, I’ve already photographed their wedding and they just hit the ground running when we started their photographs on their wedding day. Saves time and makes it so much easier for everybody. Plus, the photos tend to be better.
So happy days all round. We started by the upper lake in Glendalough just walking around and picking off spots to work in depending on the scene and the ambient light at that moment in time. I love playing with the light and sun flare and the weather played ball with the sun peeking out from some cloud cover every now and again. After Glendalough we moved on towards the Dublin mountains where there are several spots that I know and love. This light on this evening was incredible as the sun set so with the wide open expanses of the Dublin mountains we got some amazing shots. We finished the pre-wedding engagement photo session in Wicklow by Lough Tay – another favourite of mine before we lost the light and called it a day.
Absolutely beautiful session resulting in gorgeous engagement photos and a good preparation for their wedding day photographs. Thanks again to Catherine & Cormac for choosing me to be their engagement photographer and wedding photographer.
