To start off simply, if you are looking for a photographer for your wedding, then look no further than David. I honestly cannot recommend him highly enough.

My fiance had originally planned our wedding for Spain in October 2020 and then moved to October 2021 and eventually,  due to Covid, we decided to have a Christmas wedding at home in Ireland. Before we thought about organising a venue, my husband and I both said that we really wanted a good photographer. At the end of the day, when the wedding day is over, all you have are the memories so it was important for us to have nice photos as memories of our special day. We trawled the internet and looked at a MILLION photographers online and while their work was all certainly very good, no one stood out for us. That was until I stumbled across David’s page.

I instantly wanted him to be our photographer. It was so obvious that he was extremely talented. His work was simply stunning. I got in touch with him & not only was he easy to contact, easy to chat to, bubbly & friendly it was also very clear from our first zoom chat that he was the ULTIMATE professional & extremely dedicated and hard-working. He ‘got us’ immediately. We had 5 weeks to plan the wedding, which wasn’t much time. David MADE SURE that he contacted us several times so that he could get to know us and see what we wanted from the photographs of our day. It was obvious he was an absolute perfectionist- which I loved!!

On the day, my niece and nephew ran around and played all around his cameras and equipment but it did not phase him in any way!! I’ve never seen anything like it!! He was so calm & relaxed & it was obvious that photography was a hobby for him and something that he loves to do, not just a ‘job’. David had told us he would be “documenting” our day and “capturing moments” (direct quotes from David) and that he did to perfection.

Our photos arrived (with a sneak peak SlideShow of the highlights the day before) and our photographs are nothing short of magnificent. He is a magician! His talent goes far, far beyond what his webpage shows- although it was his webpage that sold his services to us, our wedding photos are out of this world.

So… if you are scouring the internet looking for the perfect wedding photographer, let me just stop you right there and save you a job. I’ve done this and let me tell you, I found the best of the best.

David, I can’t thank you enough! You are absolutely amazing & as well as everything else, you were the ultimate gentleman to deal with.

10 stars from us! Dervla & Richy

We were absolutely delighted with our wedding photos. David knew exactly what we were looking for on the day and captured it all perfectly. We couldn’t be happier with his work and now have the very difficult but wonderful task of trying to narrow down what photos we will pick for our album!

David also produced an amazing slideshow, which we have shared with friends and family who couldn’t be with us on the day. David is very professional and a perfectionist, and clearly cares about his work!! We barely even noticed he was there on the day, despite there only being small numbers! David also worked very well with our videographer on the day and they were both very easy going and quick, which was what we were looking for. After hearing of some people being disappointed with their wedding photographer, we were delighted that we went with David.

We cannot recommend him highly enough for anyone looking for a quality photographer for their wedding.

Thanks a million David!!

We would like to thank Dave for his excellent work and very valuable advices throughout the whole process. Indeed, Dave was, from the very beginning, keen on sharing all his knowledge on how our big day was gonna go and gave us lots of tips on how to make the best of it !

Looking through his portfolio, we knew that he would be a perfect match for us, and we were delighted when, after our first contact and a good chat, we decided to go ahead and work together.

We particularly liked how Dave is able to capture priceless moments, and the way his pictures go way beyond a simple photograph, but literally brings emotions and stories to life !

On the day, Dave was a perfect gentleman, very professional and putting us all at ease. As he mentioned to us before, he is privileged to follow the ‘couple of the day’ from start to finish and he knows all to well how quick and challenging a wedding day can be for the wedding party ! You can tell is well trained for dealing with people’s nerves ?

He also made sure not to take us away from our guests too long and we were back with our guests in a timely manner so we could enjoy the most of our day.

We can say with absolute certainty that Dave’s advices during the day really helped us enjoy our big day to its fullest !

Post wedding, David got in touch with us pretty quickly to give us a beautiful preview of our day, which everyone was really looking forward to see.

We absolutely recommend David Duignan for your big day !

We cannot thank you enough Dave for everything!

Hi Dave
Just a quick note to say thank you for everything that you did for us at our wedding last December. Yourself and Dena were a pleasure to work with and helped to put us both at ease. Thank you in particular for making the effort to travel to Longford, Cavan and Lough Rynn and for braving the elements at the end of the night! We really appreciate it!

Thank you also for all of your assistance with putting our album together and we can’t wait to see the final product! Wishing you and your family a lovely Christmas and all the best for 2019.

Love and best wishes

Hi David,

Thought it high time I emerged from the post-wedding bunker to say a massive THANK YOU.

While 23rd February 2019 was a wonderful day for us to share with our friends and families, it was made all the more special by having professionals like yourself carrying out the job so effortlessly. You blended in so well that I nearly forgot about you – in the nicest possible way! Before the wedding, people shared their own experiences… Most told me that having photos taken was the worst part for them, as it took so long. Well, as I said to you on the day, I had a very different experience…the time flew.

I had a quick peek at the photos…You captured those I know well perfectly. The expressions were so apt. I’ll have a tough job making the album selection!

Looking forward to reliving that day through those photos over the weekend.

Enjoy yours…

Very best wishes,

MT & J

PS You gave me very good advice re: how to arrive at the church “on time”. If I were to reciprocate for future wedding clients… Tell the bride to check that each button has a matching hook! All 42 buttons had to be hooked and unhooked 4 times by 3 individuals. In the end they were still a button short and had to double hook on one. I’m sure I’ve lost you…I wouldn’t blame you!!! I’ve since counted, & all buttons and hooks match?

Hi David,

Sorry we’re only responding now. I got so carried away looking at the photos I forgot to reply!

They are absolutely fabulous! Thank you so much! I’m going to have to look through them a bunch more times I think before I can take it all in!

Thanks a mill! I can’t get over the photos, I’m just so thrilled with them. I’ll have to stop complimenting you, it must get annoying

The final thing we had to organise for our wedding was the photographer and we found this the hardest part. There are so many to choose from and after a while every wedding photographers albums look the same and this is disappointing because you want your  own to be something special. It wasn’t until 3 months before the wedding, down to the wire, after attending tons of wedding fairs and looking at countless web sites that we stumbled across David.  Immediately I knew this was the photographer for us. The idea of posed photographs was always going to be a no no for us and David is the complete opposite to any conventional photographer. His photos are all naturally and happen organically. He was able to capture images that no other photographer we had met could have. His photographic style of disappearing into the background and capturing aspects of the day that would have been forgotten or lost in posed images is amazing. We loved the photos he captured on the day.

We got married in September this year and were so lucky to have David photographing the wedding. We live in the UK but the wedding was in Ireland so it was quite difficult for us when it came to choosing a photographer. We wanted to be sure the photographer understood what style we liked and what general vibe we were after etc., which is all hard to do from a different country. As soon as we got in contact with David however, he immediately put us at ease. He suggested we have a skype call so we could properly chat and understand each other. I think we chatted for well over an hour while he got to know us, our personalities and what we wanted out of our photo session. We were confident from that point that we had chosen the right photographer. This was further confirmed on the day. David arrived and we hardly knew he was there. His documentary style meant he caught some of the more precious, intimate moments of the day without anyone even noticing. But as well as this, when it came to the more difficult, posed group shots, he was very organised and expertly rounded up all of the guests, despite them being fairly drunk at this stage  We received our photos two weeks later which is the fastest turnaround I think I’ve heard of in wedding photography. We really couldn’t recommend David enough, he has provided us with fabulous, permanent reminders of our day. Thanks so much!

Myself and Jim wish to truly thank you for being our wedding photographer. We first picked you having seen 1) your work and 2) how you work, at Jim’s brothers wedding. It was so important to us to have someone who we knew would take great pictures but at the same time blend into the background themselves. From our first meeting with you a year before the wedding you took on every bit of info about what style of photos we wanted how long we wanted to spend and exactly what we wanted to capture. On the day itself you were amazing and so unobtrusive which is fantastic when you are trying to capture fly on the wall style photos but yet you were also great at directing us for the more posed family shots. When we got home from honeymoon we were dying to see the pictures and are so happy that you got so many good shots of all our guests as well as ourselves and they are all so natural. We now have the fun job of trying to whittle down to album photos out of all the wonderful shots but we will treasure them all for years to come. Thank you so much for doing an amazing job.
