So I put my Amsterdam wedding photographer hat on for this trendy vintage outdoor wedding celebration in The Netherlands recently.
Amsterdam Wedding Photographer – Wedding of Sabrine & Wieger
This is the beautiful wedding of Sabrine & Wieger. Both Sabrine & Wieger run 2 successful clothing stores in Amsterdam and have a very strong eye for fashion which was evident throughout their wedding. This was to be a very intimate, well planned wedding but with an extremely laid back vibe.
Bridal preparations took place in Amsterdam as did the civil wedding ceremony where Marly their Golden Labrador took (almost….!) centre stage and indeed for most of the day…!! After the ceremony and a glass of champagne and 5 minutes for 1 group photo it was off to the outdoor reception venue in Ouderkerk aan de Amstel. This is a little town on the Amstel river just outside Amsterdam. The reception was on the grounds of an old church right on the banks of the river. I’d shot there before the previous summer and it is a lovely location with loads of boats of all types passing by the still water. The vintage style wedding absolutely matched the venue and the individual touches and effort that went into the day was superb. I’m big into details and for this wedding I was spoilt for choice – there were so many photographic opportunities…!
A late lunch was shared with close family and friends by the river under a canopy. It had been raining for several days before the wedding but as usual my luck for dry weather held through and we had a perfect day. Lunch was followed by drinks and just some general chilling out with music. Later in the day evening guests arrived for a meal and dancing and of course the legendary cake cutting.
Definitely a Dutch wedding to remember.
