Here’s another Dutch wedding. Wendy & Carlo celebrated their wedding in one of the most famous hotels in The Hague – The Grand Hotel Amrath Kurhaus which is located on the beach in Scheveningen on the suburb of The Hague.

I’ve worked there several times before but always in the middle of summer on blistering hot days. This time it was March and not so hot but still a fabulous sunny day which guaranteed a fantastic sunset as the beach is westerly facing.

The preparations and ceremony all took place in the  hotel which always makes things so much easier and less stressful for everybody on the day. Before the ceremony Wendy & Carlo followed the usual tradition of having a first look in private followed by a quick photoshoot in the hotel and on the beach. We had done an engagement shoot together last October which made the photoshoot we had on the wedding day go so much smoother and we were really able to maximise our time together with little or no direction from me.

After the ceremony there was time for family photos and then it was onto their favourite sushi restaurant which they had booked exclusively for the evening for all their guests. I’m a huge fan of sushi and the food here was absolutely fab.

Speeches, food and dancing are the norm for any wedding of any culture and it was no exception here. Wendy and Carlo were able to break away from it all to escape to the beach for a few minutes to catch the sun as it dropped below the horizon. Am always happy to get a sun set shoot…!!
