Gorgeous Christmas Wedding at Tankardstown House

Miriam & Denis chose to have their wedding at Tankardstown House outside Slane last Christmas. Tankardstown House is probably one of the best wedding venues in Meath and is a favourite amongst Meath and Dublin wedding photographers. It’s beautiful, expansive and varied grounds offer great opportunities for capturing amazing wedding photographs.

Beautiful winter wedding at Tankardstown House

Tankardstown House very quickly became one of my favourite wedding venues a while back and I’m delighted now to receive so many reservations there. Just before Christmas, Miriam & Denis celebrated their wedding in this private & exclusive venue and I was there to capture it all. The bridal suite in Tankardstown offers wonderful light in the morning time for the bridal preparations. Large windows and a light coloured theme mean that the room is flooded in a beautiful soft light that’s just perfect for photographs. I arrived during the morning and just did my thing. Stood back and documented the preparations as discretely as possible. The bridal prep was a really laid back affair which is always so much better for everybody compared to a bridal suite full of panic and stress…!!

Onto the quaint Rathfeigh Church where again I’ve worked previously. It’s a popular church for couples getting married in Tankardstown or the equally beautiful Ballymagarvey Village.
Denis was wonderfully relaxed and ready to get the show on the road when I arrived. Enter the bridesmaids and then the bride with her father and the ceremony started.

Being a winter wedding we were up against the light after the ceremony for photographs so we had to quickly leave and get back to Tankardstown. Just about made it with about 25 minutes for photos before the sun went down on us. By then all the guests had arrived and the party began.

Denis is a graphic designer by profession and had put a serious amount into branding the wedding. Really loads of attention to detail which us photographers love..!!

After some family photographs it was time for dinner, followed by speeches and then the first dance. Again, I attract the best clients and Miriam and Denis were fantastic to work with before and during their day. Makes this job so rewarding and enjoyable.

Here’s some of the moments from a brilliant couple, venue and day.
