I was contacted by Sarah and Francis last summer to be their wedding photographer. They had just booked the wedding at Castle Oaks House Hotel outside Limerick and I came recommended by friends of theirs.
Sarah and Francis and their Castle Oaks House Hotel Wedding
A beautiful mild and sunny day beckoned in early May for the wedding of Sarah and Francis at the Castle Oaks House Hotel. This was my first time shooting here and it’s a gem of a location with woodlands extending down to the banks of the river Shannon offering a lovely spot for wedding photographs. The day started with the bride and groom preparations at the hotel. So YAY…, everything in the one place and no travelling or stress for anybody.
Then it was onto the church. The ceremony was held at the lovely Mary Magdalene church in Castletroy. Sarah & Francis booked me through friends of theirs who’s wedding I photographed a few years ago so there were some familiar faces amongst the large number of guests. Always nice to see previous brides and brooms at my weddings..!
After the church, it was back to the main event – the Castle Oaks House Hotel wedding. Couldn’t have asked for a more chilled out couple to work with and together with videographer Niall Mulligan we had a great laugh back by the river Shannon getting some great footage. The sun kept filtering in and out of clouds and together with the shade from the mature trees by the river walk, we just had the most perfect light to work with and got some lovely wedding photos.
So after some quick photos of the bride and groom and their families, it was back to the guests, dinner and dancing. Here’s a taste of the day that was had..!
