Joanna and Trevor’s Bellingham Castle Wedding
After I worked for the first time at Bellingham Castle in 2015 it has quickly become one of my favourite venues. Aside from fantastic staff, it’s just a beautiful venue to celebrate a wedding and to photograph those celebrations.
So, having said all that I was obviously looking forward to Joanna and Trevor’s Bellingham Castle Wedding. Both bride and groom are local to the Drogheda area and got ready at their respective family homes that morning. My brilliant second shooter on the day – Edel (edelomalley.com) was on hand to cover Trevor’s preparations whilst I stayed with Joanna. The church ceremony was in Tullyallen just outside Drogheda where we quickly popped up the road to Mellifont Abbey for a quick round of photos with the bride & groom before proceeding onto Bellingham castle. I’m generally blessed with good weather on most of my weddings and yet again we had glorious weather for the entire day for this one.
The large number of guests experienced the usual high standards of hospitality in the castle and outside on the lawns during which Joanna & Trevor allotted a short time for some more photos down by the weir. Then it was some bridal party photos and family photos before some more mingling with their guests and then dinner.
A great moment before dinner whilst all the guests were being seated was when Joanna and Trevor managed to havee some time together with Simon Ryan the magician that they hired for the afternoon to help entertain their guests. 10 minutes of card trick after card trick left us all bewildered, amused and in total admiration of Simon. Can totally recommend this guy (contact me for info) – absolutely excellent…!!
Scrumptious dinner, speeches and then loads of killer dance moves on the dance floor afterwards. Once again a great day with a great couple in a great venue.
