With a few weeks to go before their big day, Michelle & Liam decided to opt for a Westport engagement shoot.
Michelle & Liam’s Westport Engagement Shoot
I love when I get to work with a couple before their wedding for the simple reason that not only do I get to know them better but I get to know what they are like in front of the camera in advance of their wedding. From their perspective, they get accustomed to the free flowing style that I work in and therefore learn what to do and what to expect from the photography on their wedding day. This means that we all hit the ground running when it comes to their photographs on their wedding. Everybody wins..!
We had spoke by phone but this was the first time that I was actually meeting Michelle and Liam in the flesh. We had decided on an area just outside Westport, Co Mayo for their photographs and so the date and time was set.
Westport Engagement Shoot
After meeting up and going through some details of their wedding day it was time for the photo session. We had scheduled this for late evening to avail of the best light as the sun started to slip down towards the horizon. Westport woods was the first port of call and we had some amazing light filtering through the trees. I was already familiar with the area thanks to a previous wedding there last year. Michelle and Liam were up for anything – a photographers dream couple – yay..!
After the woods we drove over to the fab Paddys Bar on the edge of Lough Mask. (Also a used as wedding venue sometimes..!). By now the sun was really going down and the light was absolutely beautiful. Scroll down and see for yourself..!
Drove home a happy guy that night..!
