A Stunning Venue for a Dream Wedding
A wedding at Rathsallagh House, nestled in the heart of County Wicklow, is always going to be a special occasion. With its beautifully landscaped gardens, sophisticated interiors, and seamless setup for both ceremonies and receptions, it’s easy to see why it’s a favorite among couples.
Rebecca and Andrew’s summer wedding, held on a bright July day, was a perfect showcase of all the venue has to offer. From morning preparations to evening celebrations, the day was packed with stunning moments, and I was lucky to work alongside once again Tom from vowart
Morning Preparations at Rathsallagh House
Rebecca and Andrew’s decision to prepare onsite at Rathsallagh House added a relaxed start to their day. While Andrew and his groomsmen enjoyed a laid-back morning that included some male bonding time in the hot tub, Rebecca and her bridal party got ready in the venue’s stylish suites.
Makeup artist Keira Smyth, who is as talented as she is delightful, worked her magic to ensure everyone looked their best. Having collaborated with Keira many times, I can confidently say she’s one of the best in the business. Check out her work at keirasmyth.com.
A Memorable Ceremony at Crookstown Church
A short drive from Rathsallagh House, Crookstown Church was the setting for Rebecca and Andrew’s ceremony. Its timeless charm provided a classic backdrop as they exchanged their vows, surrounded by family and friends. However, if you are planning a wedding at this church, be aware of photographic restrictions imposed at the church.
Afterwards, everyone returned to Rathsallagh House for the reception and more photo-worthy moments.
Why Rathsallagh House Is a Photographer’s Dream
Rathsallagh House offers a fantastic mix of convenience and beauty for wedding photography. Everything you need for unforgettable shots is within a short stroll, from shaded garden paths to vibrant flowerbeds and iconic trees.
For Rebecca and Andrew, we kept things simple. A quick walk through the grounds was all it took to capture a variety of incredible images that showcased both the couple and the venue’s charm.
Picture-Perfect Moments in the Gardens
Rebecca and Andrew opted to keep their formal family photos to a minimum, which allowed them to spend more time enjoying the day with their guests. The sunny lawns of Rathsallagh House were a perfect gathering spot for everyone to relax and mingle while savoring the venue’s exceptional canapés.
As mentioned at the outset, I had the pleasure of working alongside Tom from VowArt, a brilliant videographer whose shooting style complements mine perfectly. Having collaborated on many weddings, including this one, I can attest to his professionalism and creativity. Tom’s presence added another layer to documenting the day in a way that felt seamless and natural.
Capturing the Evening Festivities
As the evening unfolded, the celebrations transitioned to Rathsallagh’s stunning reception space, where guests enjoyed a delicious dinner and heartfelt speeches.
Before the band kicked off the night’s dancing, we took Rebecca and Andrew outside for a quick session by Rathsallagh’s famous tree. The lingering summer light created the perfect conditions for some standout shots.
From the first dance to the lively energy on the dancefloor, the evening was a pleasure to photograph and filled with moments that will stay with the couple forever.
