Wedding at Markree Castle in Co Sligo
Congratulations to Grainne & James on their recent marriage in Markree Castle, Sligo. Living in Australia, they made their way home to tie the knot and celebrate with friends and family in the recently beautifully restored Castle. Had a such a laugh photographing these two along with the very talented Gavin from Dreamcatcher Productions.
Rain and thunder threatened early morning during the bridal prep in Ballina but that gradually cleared away as the morning progressed. The wonderfully calm preparations were held in Grainne’s family home before the only small stress of the day – making it to the church on time..!! Which Grainne did…! By the time the ceremony ended at the beautiful St Brigid’s church in Corhownagh the sun started to make it’s entrance. Following that it was blue skies all the way. Guests soaked up the sun in the marvellous grounds of Markree before dinner in one of the incredibly ornate dining rooms. Then the party started..!

You were a pleasure to deal with on the day, so unobtrusive but captured so many important and meaningful details, people and moments we would otherwise have missed, and while I never thought it would be the case, the time we spent out in the gardens with you, Gavin and Ronan was one of my favorite parts of the day. It was as if James and I were alone and we were so relaxed, happy and genuinely enjoying ourselves… Which to me shows in the photos. Not to mention it was good craic. g post.
