Suzanne & Nicks Gorgeous Wedding at Bellingham Castle
Suzanne and Nick chose to have their wedding at Bellingham Castle in Castlebellingham in spring of this year. Bellingham Castle is probably one of the best wedding venues in Louth and is a favourite amongst Louth and Dublin wedding photographers. It’s beautiful, expansive and varied grounds offer great opportunities for capturing amazing wedding photographs.

I always look forward to any wedding at Bellingham Castle because it is such a beautiful venue and Patrick & Ciara and all the staff there are ultra professional and ensure that your day goes to plan.
Suzanne & Nick’s preparations started out in Burren, Co Down and Belfast and many thanks to my assistant Edel for helping me out with the logistics and second shooting..! Nick and the lads started early so they could get a quick one or two in Mollys pub in Warrenpoint with family and friends. Always a bit of a worry with a large group but in fairness, they all made it to the church in time. Very impressed….!! Even more impressive were the bridal preparations. 5 bridesmaids, the bride and her mum for hair and makeup can result in chaos, stress and major delays in getting to the church but not today. The bridal preps were one of the most chilled out, well organised and enjoyable ones that I’ve experienced in a long time. Full credit to Suzanne and her bridesmaids. In fact, the bridesmaids were probably the best group of girls that a bride (and photographer…!) could have asked for.
Unfortunately the rain started just before the ceremony in the lovely St Mary’s Chapel in Burren. The rain was still falling by the time the ceremony was over so most guests didn’t linger in the churchyard and went straight to Bellingham Castle. Despite the wet & cold conditions Suzanne was still determined to go outside for some photos so that’s exactly what we did. A quick walk down to the weir for some brief photos before everyone got too wet and then it was time to pop back inside and warm up with their 200 guests.
Dinner, speeches, toasts and then some crazy dance moves including some emotional first dances between Suzanne and her new hubby and her dad.
