Early October and it was off to Gougane Barra Church and Ballinacurra House Wedding of Maeve and Jason. This was a wedding of epic locations and vintage cars.
Gougane Barra Church and Ballinacurra House Wedding
Maeve is originally from Cork and a bit of a drive to the church so it was an early start at her family home for the bridal preparations. Plenty of people were in the house which contributed to loads of good natured hussle and bussle that morning. Maeve’s dad meanwhile took refuge out the back preparing his collection of immaculate vintage cars which were to be utilised fully for the day. A busy morning but everybody very conscious of the journey to Gougane Barra so there was no hanging around.
I arrived at Gougane Barra just in time to see Jason and the lads casually strolling up to the church. Calm as a cucumber..! And from here on this was the mood for the wedding. Really chilled. Gougane Barra church is tiny and can only fit a tiny congregation. Therefore just immediate family members were in attendance for the ceremony and all the other guests would join the celebration at Ballinacurra House later in the day. A lovely ceremony was delivered by a friend of the family before everybody came out for a group photo.
The entire day was very heavily overcast but thankfully stayed dry and the October colours helped inject some colour into the photographs. We got to spend a short time at Gougane Barra for bride and groom photos before heading to Ballinacurra House for the reception.
Here Maeve had the honour of driving her and her new hubby to the front door in a wonderful vintage car. Despite the heavy clouds it was warm and a lot of guests mingled outside Ballinacurra House. The food as always in Ballinacurra House was incredible and after dinner and speeches it was full on party mode.
Maeve and Jason are a wonderful couple who didn’t stress and just set out to enjoy their wedding day. It was great to work with them at these two beautiful and popular wedding locations.
