This gorgeous outdoor wedding at the Lodge at Ashford Castle is one I’ll remember for a long time to come. Cong, Co Mayo is beautiful in itself but with both Ashford Castle and The Lodge at Ashford Castle located within, it’s a dream location for any high end wedding in the West of Ireland.
I was delighted to photograph Laura and Peter’s wedding there during the summer. Both bride and groom wanted an outdoor wedding and they got it. The Lodge at Ashford Castle offers a stunning location overlooking Lough Corrib and the outdoor ceremony allowed the lake as a beautiful backdrop.
Having had bridal preparations in a lovely old townhouse in Cong, Laura arrived in style for her ceremony in a fab Rolls Royce. Pulling up beside her guests, it was a short walk down the aisle to greet Peter.
Following the ceremony and congratulations from guests, it was a short drive to Ashford Castle for their wedding photos. As always, I kept this part really chilled as we took a stroll through the gardens shooting as went. Finished, we headed back the the reception for some family photos against the backdrop of the lake before dinner call. This is a stunning setting and we made the most of the gorgeous weather.
