Engagement shoot in Ballycotton Co Cork

So last summer I made the trip down to the south for this engagement shoot in Ballycotton Co Cork to Marina & Ciaran’s turf. This fab couple living in the US, jetted back to Ireland to arrange their 2019 wedding and get some engagement photos taken. They had already booked me to cover their wedding, so I was really looking forward to meeting and working with them in advance of their big day.

They chose a local beach. One that is practically deserted as access to it is only really known to locals. So after meeting up with them at Marina’s family home, off we set across fields and then some more fields under the watchful eye of a few cows before we made it to the cliff tops. Down below via a narrow winding pathway and some steps was a lovely secluded beach.

Stunning location despite the overcast weather. We had aimed for a sunset and for all the day it looked guaranteed but as I travelled south that afternoon the sun disappeared and more and more cloud rolled in as I got closer to Cork unfortunately.

But that didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of this couple and without even asking them, they were in the water. So what more can I say..? Had a terrific session with these guys and I am really looking forward to their wedding at the Dunmore House Hotel in Clonakilty, Cork later this year. Should be great..!

Here’s a few shots of their session.
