Grainne and Martin’s wedding at the Museum of Literature Ireland perfectly showcased the venue’s charm, from the serene ceremony space to the scenic outdoor areas. You can explore more about MoLI here.

A Wedding Like No Other: Martin & Grainne’s Style

Grainne’s dress stole the show. Created by the talented and award winning mizz_rio —a bold, vibrant blue dress that turned heads and brought a fresh twist to traditional bridal wear. Grainne had playfully emailed me before the wedding, saying, “It’s not a standard white dress—don’t have a heart attack!” Her individuality set the tone for a day that was as unique as the couple themselves.

The ceremony at MoLI was intimate and personal, held in a stylish, light-filled space. Martin and Grainne’s laid-back vibe put everyone at ease, creating a warm, inclusive atmosphere.

Capturing Memories in the Iveagh Gardens

After the ceremony, the celebration moved to MoLI’s garden, where drinks, canapés, and music created a relaxed setting for guests to mingle. When it was time for photos, we made a quick escape to the nearby Iveagh Gardens.

Known as Dublin’s “hidden gem,” the Iveagh Gardens provide a serene oasis in the city. With lush greenery, winding paths, and stunning features like the fountain and the rosarium, it’s a photographer’s dream. Unlike busier public parks, the gardens offer quiet corners and privacy, making them ideal for wedding portraits.

Grainne and Martin wanted natural, candid photos, so we strolled through the gardens for about 15 minutes. The vibrant colors and elegant backdrop paired perfectly with Grainne’s bold dress and the couple’s easygoing energy.

A Walk Through Dublin

One of the standout moments of the day was the procession from MoLI to Roberta’s. Martin and Grainne led the way, holding balloons and walking with their children, while guests followed through the lively streets of Dublin.

Grafton Street and Temple Bar provided an energetic contrast to the peaceful ceremony and garden photos. Pedestrians stopped to take in the scene, especially Grainne’s eye-catching dress, making it a fun and memorable part of the day. The energy of the city added a unique layer to their wedding story, and it was a joy to capture these dynamic moments.

An Evening at Roberta’s

The celebration continued at Roberta’s, a stylish venue with plenty of natural light streaming through its atrium. For photography, this was a dream—no harsh artificial lighting to contend with, just clean, bright tones that enhanced every image.

Martin and Grainne kept the evening simple but meaningful, with brief speeches and plenty of time to connect with their guests. After dinner, the couple shared their first dance, wrapping up the day in the best way possible.
