A Seaside Celebration: Photographing Hazel and Jon’s Wedding Day
You know it’s going to be a good wedding when you have already photographed the wedding of brides sister the year previously. You already know the family and the characters involved. When Hazel got in touch to discuss photographing her beautiful Summer Wedding at Seafield Hotel & Spa Wexford, I could already tell this was going to be an incredible wedding to shoot. Hazel, a born and bred Irish girl, was marrying Jon, her English fiancé, in a stylish marquee in the hotel grounds. With the Irish sea as their backdrop, these two were all set up for an epic day.
Capturing the Morning Preparations: Hazel and Her Bridesmaids Get Ready
As the photographer, my day started early at the Seafield Hotel, capturing Hazel and her bridesmaids as they prepared for the big day ahead. The atmosphere in the bridal suite was lets say – excited anticipation as various people popped in and out to say hello.
Meanwhile, Jon and his groomsmen were getting ready on the other side of the hotel. Jon, who hails from the UK, wore a classic tuxedo, looking every bit the perfect groom. The lads enjoyed a few pints of Guinness to calm any nerves, toasting to Jon and wishing him well for the day ahead.
The Outdoor Marquee Ceremony Overlooking the Sea
The outdoor marquee ceremony overlooking the sea was simply stunning. Hazel looked radiant walking down the aisle clutching a bouquet of white flowers. Their intimate civil ceremony was personal and heartfelt, with personalised vows and a special reading read by Hazel’s uncle.
After being officially pronounced husband and wife, Hazel and Jon emerged from the marquee to cheers & greetings from their guests. With the panoramic sea views behind them and the marquee adorned with flowers, the setting was idyllic.
Portraits on the Beach: Hazel and Jon’s Stunning Seaside Photos
Beautiful Summer Wedding at Seafield Hotel & Spa Wexford. The beach near the Seafield Hotel was the perfect spot for Hazel and Jon’s wedding portraits. After their ceremony, we headed down the winding path from the hotel to the sandy shore. I was lucky to be working alongside Dan from Made to Last Films. We spent about 20 minutes on the beach photographing and filming in perfect light. These images perfectly encapsulated the beauty of their seaside celebration. The beach provided a stunning backdrop for natural, romantic portraits on their unforgettable wedding day by the sea.
Candid Moments During the Reception at Seafield Hotel
The reception at Seafield Hotel was filled with candid moments that I specialise in. As their wedding photographer, I made sure to get plenty of natural, unposed shots to tell the full story of their celebration.
By focusing on the details and capturing the unscripted moments, Hazel and Jon will have authentic memories from their seaside wedding day that they can treasure forever. The candids are often the most meaningful, as they reveal the raw emotions and true connections between people. I feel privileged to have documented so many touching candid moments in the lives of this newly married couple.
As I finished up photographing the first few dances, I knew I had captured something really special to end my coverage of Hazel and Jon’s wedding day. A magical ending to a day they will never forget. My work was done, and I left knowing I had been part of something truly special.
