Stunning – A Wedding in The Shelbourne Hotel Dublin

A crisp and cold but beautiful sunny spring day was the backdrop to a wedding in the Shelbourne Hotel Dublin for Maria and JP last February.

A Wedding in The Shelbourne Hotel Dublin

The beautiful Shelbourne with the equally gorgeous St Stephens Green across the road is one of the most popular city centre upmarket wedding venues. I photographed Maria’s sisters wedding some years back so it was a pleasure to be invited back to photograph this family occasion.

The ceremony was held in the equally popular Newman University Church, St. Stephens Green. On this cold day Maria didn’t keep everybody waiting as she arrived on time looking absolutely amazing. It wasnt long before the ceremony was underway and vows were being exchanged. After the ceremony everybody walked across St Stephens Green to the reception in the Shelbourne. Bridal party and their families lingered on in the Green for photos. Fair play to Maria and the girls especially as it was bitterly cold but it did limit our time in the park for photos as the warmth of the indoors beckoned very quickly.

As customary in The Shelbourne the guests were there to greet the bride and groom on arrival before the reception really got going. Before dinner call we got to do a few more photos in the hotel along with some family pics that we were unable to get done in the park.

I was there from ceremony until start of the dancing that night and I captured it all.

I want to say thanks so much to Maria and JP for choosing me to be their wedding photographer. It was a pleasure working with such a genuinely lovely couple.
