Here’s a snapshot of the magnificent Glasson Country House wedding of Mary and Joe that I photographed last summer.
Glasson Country House Wedding
It was all go at Mary’s family home in Co Roscommon where the family and all the bridesmaids were getting ready. Close by in Lanesbourgh Joe was also getting ready before the journey to Ballagh Church in Kilrooskey for the ceremony. After a wet and grey start to the day, things soon brightened up by the time guests started arriving at the church. A lovely ceremony followed by loads of laughs in the churchyard afterwards before the drive to Glasson in a gorgeous classic VW van.
It had been a while since I’d previously worked in Glasson so it was lovely to go back especially on such a beautiful day. There is a lovely wooded area just inside the front gates where we stopped with Mary and Joe for some photos before continuing to the main house where all their guests were starting to congregate. With such lovely weather it was an obvious choice to head down to the famous bridge with the bridal party for a few more photos.
After that and when family photos were done back at the house, Mary and Joe just spent the rest of their time mingling with their guests. Many had travelled over from the UK as Mary and Joe currently live there and Joe is originally from there. Loads of different accents..! When the weather is good, it’s a fab setting overlooking the lake and guests took full advantage to wander around.
Dinner bell came all too soon inviting guests into the bright reception room with stunning panoramic views through the floor to ceiling glass windows.
Thank you so much to Mary and Joe for choosing me to be their Glasson Country House wedding photographer.
